Governor Phillip Park

Today our Sydney Parks is Governor Phillip Park at Palm Beach on Sydney’s Northern beaches. The park extends from Beach Road on the south to the Barrenjoey Headland. Located near the Palm Beach Golf Club, on one side of the park is North Palm Beach and the other side Pittwater.

The area was once home to the Aboriginal people known as Ku-ring-gai. Governor Arthur Phillip visited this area in March 1788 by boat and named it Pittwater. From 1924 to the early 70′s the area was used as a public camping ground. There is plenty to do at Governor Phillip Park you can swim, surf, fish, there is boat hire, you can even book scenic flights by seaplane.

Home and Away Tours

For fans there is a Home and Away Tour, you will travel to Palm Beach and surrounding areas and see where the show has been filmed including the Summer Bay Surf Life Saving Club.

Your description certainly makes Governor Phillip Park at Palm Beach a place to put on the “to visit” list. The scenic flights by seaplane sounds like a great idea. Interesting and informative post. Thanks.
